Jag fick INFP, men har tidigare fått INTP. Den tredje verkar ligga och väga mellan F och T, vilket stämmer ganska väl med min självförståelse.

Main Characteristics (INTP/Architect)

INTPs exhibit the greatest precision in thought and language of all the types; they tend to see distinctions and inconsistencies in thought and language instantaneously. The one word which captures the unique style of INTPs is architect - the architect of ideas and systems as well as the architect of edifices. This type is found in only 1 percent of the population and therefore is not encountered as frequently as some of the other types.

INTPs detect contradictions in statements no matter how distant in space or time the contradictory statements were produced. The intellectual scanning of INTPs has a principled quality; that is, INTPs search for whatever is relevant and pertinent to the issue at hand. Consequently, INTPs can concentrate better than any other type.

Authority derived from office, position, or wide acceptance does not impress INTPs. Only statements that are logical and coherent carry weight. External authority per se is irrelevant. INTPs abhor redundancy and incoherence. Possessing a desire to understand the universe, an INTP is constantly looking for natural law. Curiosity concerning these keys to the universe is a driving force in this type.

INTPs prize intelligence in themselves and in others, but can become intellectual dilettantes as a result of their need too amass ideas, principles, or understanding of behavior. And once they know something, it is remembered. INTPs can become obsessed with analysis. Once caught up in a thought process, that thought process seems to have a will of its own for INTPs, and they persevere until the issue is comprehended in all its complexity. They can be intellectual snobs and may show impatience at times with others less endowed intellectually. This quality, INTPs find, generates hostility and defensive behavior on the part of others, who may describe an INTP as arrogant.

For INTPs, the world exists primarily to be understood. Reality is trivial, a mere arena for proving ideas. It is essential that the universe is understood and that whatever is stated about the universe is stated correctly, with coherence and without redundancy. This is the INTPs final purpose. It matters not whether others understand or accept his or her truths.

INTP: The Architect

INTPs make up 3% of the US population.

INTPs are theoretical innovators, fascinated by logical analysis, systems, and design. Often seen by others as detached, analytical observers, INTPs are preoccupied with theory and often seem oblivious to the world around them because they are so deeply absorbed in thought. The INTP is typically nontraditional, more likely to reason out their own unconventional way of doing things than to follow the crowd. They are passionate about what they see as logical, reasonable, and innovative, and will go to great mental lengths trying to devise ingenious solutions to interesting problems.

Popular leisure activities for an INTP include reading, art and cultural events, chess and other strategy games, writing, taking classes, working with computers, backpacking, hiking, and meditation.

At work, the INTP quickly earns a reputation for being intelligent, innovative, and a bit offbeat. INTPs hate being limited by bureaucracy and rules, but given free reign, will often come up with something truly ingenious. INTPs work best independently or with a small team of colleagues that they perceive as smart, competent, and logical. They quickly tire of colleagues who are aggressive or overbearing, and can be dismissive of people who aren’t as clever as themselves. An ideal organization for an INTP is flexible and non-traditional, and values innovation and ingenuity over conformity. An ideal job for an INTP allows them to address complex theoretical or technical problems by designing creative solutions.

In leadership positions, INTPs inspire others with their intelligence and innovative ideas. INTP leaders are often unassuming on the surface but catch everyone’s attention once they begin talking about their ideas. INTPs generally allow their reports a lot of latitude, preferring to set the overall goal and trust their team to solve problems autonomously. INTPs enjoy exploring new possibilities and engaging in creative problem solving, but may sometimes get so caught up in the world of ideas that they neglect to lead their teams into action.

In relationships, INTPs are independent and clever partners. They enjoy engaging intellectually with a partner who can match their quick wit. They tend to analyze the theory behind everything, and may interpret human interactions with the detached logic of a psychological researcher. INTPs may find others difficult to deal with when they cannot understand the logic behind their behavior; when things get too emotional, they typically prefer to retreat to their own world of thoughts and ideas. Good matches for the INTP include INFP and INFJ. These types share the INTPs need for autonomy but balance it with a focus on the quality of the relationship. Also a good match is an INTJ, who understands the INTP’s devotion to logic but helps bring structure and order to the pair.

INTP's live rich worlds inside their minds, which are full of imagination and excitement. Consequently, they sometimes find the external world pales in comparison. This may result in a lack of motivation to form and maintain relationships. INTPs are not likely to have a very large circle of significant relationships in their lives. They're much more likely to have a few very close relationships, which they hold in great esteem and with great affection. Since the INTP's primary focus and attention is turned inwards, aimed towards seeking clarity from abstract ideas, they are not naturally tuned into others' emotional feelings and needs.

They tend to be difficult to get to know well, and hold back parts of themselves until the other person has proven themselves "worthy" of hearing the INTP's thoughts. Holding Knowledge and Brain Power above all else in importance, the INTP will choose to be around people who they consider to be intelligent. Once the INTP has committed themself to a relationship, they tend to be very faithful and loyal, and form affectionate attachments which are pure and straight-forward. The INTP has no interest or understanding of game-playing with regards to relationships. However, if something happens which the INTP considers irreconciliable, they will leave the relationship and not look back.

Vill dra mig till minnes om en liknande undersökning på Flashbacks forum för konservatism, där personlighetstypen INTJ dominerade. Vilket i sig är klart intressant eftersom det ska vara en förhållandevis ovanlig typ.

Tycker Sminds var bättre än det första, då det första ställde frågor som inte gick att svara mitt emellan på, då många frågor för mig känns på båda punkterna lika starka, alltså inget jag vill välja mellan.

Dock känns det ändå som om testerna skapar ett antingen eller, antingen är du A eller så är du B, de finns inget val C att vara starkt dragen till exempelvis både logik och egna erfarenheter.
